VIII,, a descendant of Sir John de Cirencester who in 1433 was returned amongst the principal gentry in Devon by the King's Commissioners and his wife Thomasine daughter and heir of Sir William Raleigh Kt. of Raleigh, who brought the estate of Raleigh into the Chicester family.
