Ambrose Awdry, son of Ambrose Awdry and Mary (Selfe) Awdry, was born in 1693. He married 14 January 1724 at Seend, his first cousin, Jane Awdry, daughter of John Ambrose Awdry and Judith. Ambrose Awdry III Esquire died 14 may 1766 and was buried 23 May 1766 at Seend.
Ambrose "was also a Seend clothier and feoffee of Church lands there in 1725. He is perhaps the first of his family buried there at Seend." Wiltshire Gazette, 11 April 1912
