William inherited Losely in 1874 on the death of his father James, he built a nursery wing onto Loseley in 1877, but finally he leased the estate and lived at St Catherines House next door. He was a J.P. founder chairman of the Artington Parish Council. He died unmarried and left his estate to his neice Gwendoline daughter of his brother Robert
